Wasta Orchards

The Wasta orchard stretches out over an area of 350,000m² overlooking the sea at an elevation of 200m. Only 150,000m² of the total area is used thus far for agricultural purposes. The land is planted mainly with citrus trees such as grapefruit, orange, lemon, and pomelo. Other plantations include avocado trees, a large variety of lettuce fields (baby romaine, batavia [red and green], boston lettuce [red and green], frisée fine, iceberg, lollo rossa, lollo verde, oak leaf [red and green], radicchio and red lettuce), broccoli, a wide variety of cabbage (choux rave [red and green], cabbage [red and green], cauliflower and chinese cabbage), dill, fennel, melon and tomato.

Throughout, the land is irrigated by an automated sprinkler and drip system. Depending on the weather and the season, green housing or open field farming is employed. Chemicals are minimally used, only when deemed absolutely necessary. During the summer, the temperature varies between 25°-35°C, whereas during the winter it ranges between 10°-20°C.
